Essential Forms

Our Daycare Registration Form is your first step towards enrolling your child in our program. Please fill out the form with accurate and comprehensive details about your child and your family to help us provide the best care and a tailored learning experience. Once completed, submit the form to our administration to finalize the enrollment process.

Our Medication Permission Form is essential for ensuring the safe administration of prescribed or over-the-counter medications to your child during daycare hours. Please complete and return the form to allow our trained staff to provide the necessary care with your authorization and detailed instructions.

An Emergency Consent Card is a critical form that allows daycare staff to take necessary actions during a medical or other emergency involving your child. Parents must fill out and sign this card, providing contact information and granting permission for emergency medical care if needed.

Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI)

The Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) is a provincially funded program designed to provide financial relief to families by subsidizing licensed childcare providers. This initiative aims to reduce and stabilize child care costs for families with children up to Kindergarten age. Parents can save up to $900 per month per child on tuition fees through this subsidy.

Parents do not need to apply separately for this BC daycare subsidy. If your child is enrolled in a participating licensed child care provider, the discount will be applied automatically starting from December 2022.

Pandemic Policy

In light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Dr. Bonnie Henry has confirmed and encouraged childcare centers to remain open, where possible, to serve families in need of childcare. Wonder Years Daycare will continue to adhere to all updated protocols and procedures as outlined by Health Authorities and the CDC.

Given these important requirements, we are committed to maintaining strict health policies, and we ask that all parents understand and agree to the following additional requirements:

Illness and Attendance

Children may not attend Wonder Years Childcare if they exhibit any symptoms of respiratory illness or fever, without exception. Household members must also take all possible precautions to limit exposure to COVID-19.

Families are advised to keep their child at home or seek alternate care arrangements if the child experiences any of the following conditions:
– Pain – any unexplained or undiagnosed pain
– Common cold symptoms, including listlessness, runny nose, coughing, and sore throat
– Breathing difficulties – wheezing or persistent cough
– Fever (100°F/38.3°C or higher)
– Sore throat or trouble swallowing
– Infected skin or eyes, or undiagnosed rash
– Headache and stiff neck (requires physician evaluation)
– Unexplained diarrhea or loose stool, potentially indicative of a gastrointestinal infection
– Nausea and vomiting
– Severe itching or dry skin caused by lice or scabies
– Known or suspected communicable diseases (a doctor’s note may be required for return)

A child must be kept at home (or taken home) and remain at home for 24 hours after symptoms subside if they are too ill to participate in regular activities or exhibit any of the above symptoms. Ultimately, it is the parent’s responsibility to care for a sick child, and fees will not be refunded for absences due to illness.

If your child becomes ill while at daycare, we will contact you or your alternate to pick up the child within 30 minutes. We will keep the child comfortable until you arrive. In an emergency, we will call an ambulance and contact you immediately. If staff are too ill to care for the children or if any children are contagious, the daycare may close. We will provide as much notice as possible, and you will not be charged for days we cannot provide care. It is your responsibility to make alternative childcare arrangements.

Arrival

To limit traffic flow into the facility, parents are asked to drop off their child at the door to a teacher. Parents must maintain social distancing (2 meters) from staff and other children. Please wait until the previous family has completed drop-off and left before proceeding.

Child Transition into the Classroom

Teachers will assist your child in placing their belongings in their cubby, changing shoes, and washing hands before they enter the play area.

Transparency and candor are crucial for the well-being of children, staff, and families. While this may lead to challenging conversations, it is essential to acknowledge and respect these measures during the pandemic.

We sincerely appreciate your compliance and understanding!
